Kings Bretz Suffers Setback
Wednesday, November 11th, 1931
Fans hoping to see Brooklyn Kings starting pitcher Heinie Bretz back in action will have to be a little more patient since Bretz is expected to miss another 4 months of action. The player's rehabilitation has not gone as well as expected. Bretz is recovering from bone chips in his elbow.

Since his debut, Bretz has marked up 4 wins and 2 losses and fashioned an ERA of 3.42. He has fanned 20 batters while pitching 52.2 innings.
FABL News: Winter Meetings End
Wednesday, November 11th, 1931
As attendees make plans to get out of town, a few waning hours remain for deal-making. General managers might pick up the phone and call that agent who has been on the backburner for the past few days. They might still explore trade options with another club to see what's out there. They still have until the end of today, when Winter Meetings wrap up for the year and they could just end up with a surprising catch to take back home to their fans.
Winter Meetings Come to a Close
Wednesday, November 11th, 1931
With the Winter Meetings about to come to a close, some teams have made concrete decisions, while others look to be coming away with nothing. But appearances can be deceiving. What may be an outline now can easily be fleshed out into full-fledged plans. "A lot of people are leaving here with unfinished business, and they have discussions ongoing, Hank Leitzke of the Cleveland Foresters said. "I believe the free agent market not breaking loose has stalled some things. We've got three or four open conversations that we'll just continue to follow up on and see if anything materializes."
