Welcome to Simsportleagues.com
Welcome to the home of the Legendsport leagues, a group of simulation leagues covering several sports. The current leagues are:
- Alternate Universe Football League (AUFL), a pro football simulation using Solecismic Software's Front Office Football 2007. AUFL began play with the 1983 season, imagining a universe in which the NFL expanded by four teams, absorbing a third of the USFL before the new league launched. Since that first season, AUFL has chugged along quite nicely and is currently in its second decade, and will soon reach the 21st century.
- The Baseball Chronicle (TBC), a pro baseball simulation using Out of the Park Baseball (currently OOTP 12). TBC began with the very first season of major league play in 1871 and is currently in the 1930s. TBC features not only MLB but also the Pacific Coast League, International League and American Association as well as three AA leagues (Texas Lg, Eastern Lg and Southern Assoc.). The twist for TBC is that while the history of the teams, stadiums and leagues are real, the players are not, removing any expectations associated with playing with historical players.
- The Football Chronicle (TFC), a pro football league using Barcode Games' Pro Football Simulator, a new game with a very promising future. TFC recently re-booted with the 1950 season which saw the NFL and AAFC merge. Like TBC, TFC also has fictional players in a real-world universe. So while Otto Graham, Jim Brown and Johnny Unitas aren't in TFC, we are free to find our own heroes and legends.
- Alternate Universe Basketball Association (AUBA) is the newest league, a pro basketball league using Wolverine Studios' Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball 2 to imagine a universe in which the NBA expanded by four teams for the 1961-62 season, avoiding the creation of the American Basketball League, but integrating the ABL's greatest legacy to the game: the three-point shot.
There is a possibility a fifth league - The Hockey Chronicle - may join the others, depending on how much time the commissioner has and how much interest a league such as this would generate. THC would operate in a manner similar to TBC and TFC: fictional players in a real-world universe, likely beginning with the start of the "Original Six" era in 1942-43.
